Cause
Royal Columbian Hospital
Royal Columbian Hospital is the only hospital in the province with cardiac, trauma, neurosciences, high-risk maternity and neonatal intensive care on one site. We look after some of the most seriously ill and injured patients in the province. The Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower, opening in 2026, is the most significant milestone in our hospital’s redevelopment — a transformative project that will almost double our capacity and set a new standard for patient care. This world-class facility will feature one of Canada’s largest interventional and surgical “Superfloors,” advanced emergency services, and cutting-edge technology designed to save lives and elevate the patient experience.
• The new tower will almost double the square footage of RCH
• Will provide capacity for 11,300 more patients a year
• Will allow teams to perform 30% more surgeries
• Will expand the Emergency Department to include five zones including pediatrics and mental health
